The artist uses a rolling pin to create the base. The drying process is what fragments the frame. The flower petals and leaves are hand-sculpted onto the base. The glazes are mixed by hand to create the beautiful colors and textures on the flowers and birds. After glazing and firing, the individual pieces are painstakingly reassembled.
